Happy New Year

I wish everyone a Happy New Year.
Not sure how much blogging I will get done this year. It would be nice if I could get more done then 2007.
Last year I knit 12 pairs of socks in 12 months.
This year I hope to knit some lace. Not 12 lace project. Just knit some lace.
I have 2 Pi's that need to be finished. Then I have at least 4 projects worth of laceweight yarn.
So today I cast on for a laceweight Feather and Fan Scarf.
I'm using Knit Picks Shadow.
My goal might be to knit 4 lace projects this year.
We will see what happens.
When I have time I'll update my finished knitted items for 2007.

Found the pattern on a blog somewhere. Can't find it now. It is called a Mug and French Press Jacket. The original pattern is knit from the bottom up. I then found a pattern that knit from the top down. I liked the way the top down pattern looked so I used that one.
I knit this and the mitts for a Holiday Exchange at Knit 'n Chat.
This was a fun knit and I think I'm going to knit more mug covers. They will make great gifts.

I hope to knit two pairs of Socks for Soldiers in 2008. I'll just buy the yarn and have them in my bag as my take along project.

Knitting

I've been able to start knitting again. A few weeks ago I started having pain in my wrist so I took a break. Now I just let myself knit for short periods.
Today I finshed my October socks. Opal yarn using a vanilla pattern.
Last week I was able to finish a scarf that will be sent to my exchange partner from Knit and Chat.
Later today I will start back on my September socks. Not sure when I finish them but I do think they are the reason I hurt my wrist. I am using Knit Picks Essential on size 1 dpns and I think the weight of the yarn on such small needles were a bit tough for my wrist.
I do have yarn to make a hat and scarf with larger needles so I may switch back and forth between them and the socks to help my wrist out. At the first twinge of discomfort I do stop knitting and take a few days rest. Now willing to risk the use of my hands just to knit.

Bobbled Lattice Sox Close up

Here is a close up of the pattern. It is rather nice looking.

I did knit one sock then. I guess I lost it. So I knit this pair with a smaller cuff. I didn't want to run out of yarn.
