The Days March On

It is always amazing how time passes.

My online friends sent me a lovely basket of fruit and teas when my Father died. It had a teapot in it.

The bottom of the teapot says Mother's Day 2008. My Mother's last Mothers Day. I've been making tea in it the whole month.

What a wonderful way to remember my Mother.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Today is my Father's 89th Birthday. I'm sure he and my Mother are having a great celebration in heaven.

Yesterday was the Promotional Ceremony for the San Francisco Fire Department.

This is my Brother Brendan McGorrin and Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White.

We are all very proud of my Brother.

Easter

Hope everyone had a nice Easter.

We went out for Brunch. It was a very nice day.

Scarf Exchange

Last Month was the end of the scarf exchage on Knit&Chat.

I knit my partner a Clapotis.

I do love that pattern.

I used Knit Picks yarn.

Tea Exchange

I recieved this lovely package of tea the other day.

I love exchanges.

Now to get out and buy tea to send off to my exchange partner.

It's been awhile

I keep forgetting to post pictures of what I bought at Stitches West.

I got a cute bag that carries my knitting

A pink needle sizer. It is so compact that it fits in all my knitting bags.

Glass Stitch Markers. They are so pretty.

I'm getting plenty of use from each of these items.

Stitches West

My Daughters and I went to Stitches West yesterday. We had a good time and were glad it did not rain.

My Father

My Father's service will be Friday Feb. 20,2009 at 2pm in Elk Grove.
I just hope it is not raining there are a few people who have to travel and I don't want them to deal with the rain.

Today my Father went to join my Mother. I know he is now very happy.
We are very sad.

First Finished Object of 2009

I started this hat about 2 weeks ago. I am getting to be so slow knitting wise.

I used Knit Picks Essential. Color Sarge.

Yes, I know it has been awhile.
Just can't seem to figure out what to write.
All is well here.
Need to look for pictures to post.

It's been awhile

I"ve been knitting and going to work and spending time with my Father. He was in Hospital in July with Pneumonia. Thankfully he has recoverd. As good as new.

I finished a pair of socks for Sock For Soldiers. I just need to send them out.

I have another pair of socks for Socks for Soldiers on the needle. I don't have to knit the legs on the new socks since someone with a CSM knit the legs. It is nice to have the socks half finished when I start them. The pair to the left I knit from the first stitch to the last. They are knit with Knit Picks Essential in Buckskin. They are a very nice pair of socks.

I also knit a pair of Fetching Mitts for my exchange partner from Knit & Chat. I'm not sure if I can do any more exchanges. While I love doing them I just am having a hard time being creative when I try and put the package together. These mitts were knit using Knit Picks. Swish Superwash. The Fetching Mitts are a very quick knit and everyone seems to love getting a pair.

As always I hope to start posting more. It just depends on my moods.

I"m knitting again

I'm not knitting much but I do have a new pair of socks on my needles and I've been working on my Cap Shawl.
I've been able to go to work, be friendly and sometimes be very quiet. It is funny but I find that I'm missing my Mother when I'm at work in the middle of the night. I could not talk to my mother when I was at work so it is strange.
I'm up with my Father right now. We are all doing well. We just take it easy.
Try not to make stupid comments to people you don't know.
Take a deep breath when strangers do things that anoy you. They don't know how you feel so don't take it personally.
I think that is my new mantra of sorts.
Still want to write more about my mother I just haven't been able to put pen to paper as she use to say.

Thank you everyone for their messages, emails and phone calls.
I still cannot believe my mother is no longer here. I expect to be able to pick her up and take her home.
It is very sad to see my Father look so lost.
We are doing well considering hopefully we will continue to do well.

We will all miss the best Mother in the World very much.

The best Mother on earth

On May 26 , 2008 my Mother died.
I am so very sad. It was the right time for her and we were lucky to be able to spend the weekend with her. We all had the chance to tell her that we loved her and would miss her and would take care of everyone.
Her memorial service is Wednesday May 28 at 2 pm. Think of our family

Knitting

I just can't seem to knit right now. I'm not sure if it is because I felt awful last week with our heat wave or because I am just supper supper tired.
I really would like to finish the cap shawl. It looks nice even though I don't have much finished on it yet. I would like to see how the next section will look.

New Computer

I'm doing a happy dance.
My new computer arrived today.
Yea, freedom from the old old computer.
