September socks. Used Knit Picks Elegance. Difficult to knit because of their size. My wrist hurt long before I could finish the sock.
I will send them to Socks for Soldiers.

Smocking Mug Cover
Found the pattern on a blog somewhere. Can't find it now. It is called a Mug and French Press Jacket. The original pattern is knit from the bottom up. I then found a pattern that knit from the top down. I liked the way the top down pattern looked so I used that one.
I knit this and the mitts for a Holiday Exchange at Knit 'n Chat.
This was a fun knit and I think I'm going to knit more mug covers. They will make great gifts.

Feather and Fan Mitts
I knit these mitts for Shirley for our gift exchange at work. I used yarn I had in my stash.

Here is the second sock I knit for my November Sock of the Month. The first sock I knit in 2001. They are to small for me so I will give them to my daughter.

Brian's Scarf
Brian bought this yarn when he took a knitting class at school. He never finished the scarf so I figured I would finish it for him. I use the Men's Cashmere Scarf pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. It was an easy knit. Yarn is Encore.
Big Black Socks
Here is my first pair of Socks for Soldiers. They were my September Socks. They are washed and dried ready to be sent. One problem. I don't remember where I left them. Typical of me. I used Knit Picks Essential in Black. They took a long time to knit because the leg and foot are 12 inches long.
I hope to knit two pairs of Socks for Soldiers in 2008. I'll just buy the yarn and have them in my bag as my take along project.

Knitting
I've been able to start knitting again. A few weeks ago I started having pain in my wrist so I took a break. Now I just let myself knit for short periods.
Today I finshed my October socks. Opal yarn using a vanilla pattern.
Last week I was able to finish a scarf that will be sent to my exchange partner from Knit and Chat.
Later today I will start back on my September socks. Not sure when I finish them but I do think they are the reason I hurt my wrist. I am using Knit Picks Essential on size 1 dpns and I think the weight of the yarn on such small needles were a bit tough for my wrist.
I do have yarn to make a hat and scarf with larger needles so I may switch back and forth between them and the socks to help my wrist out. At the first twinge of discomfort I do stop knitting and take a few days rest. Now willing to risk the use of my hands just to knit.

Bobbled Lattice Sox
I finished my August Sock of the Month awhile ago. I just forgot to come in here and show them. They are knit from Opal yarn that I got as part of the Opalchatters Sock of the Month in 2001. I did knit one sock then. I guess I lost it. So I knit this pair with a smaller cuff. I didn't want to run out of yarn.

Bamboo Walking Socks
My July Sock of the Month. The Varigated yarn is Sol Joy. I used this yarn in my Mad Cow socks. The Solid yarn is Panda Wool in Vine Green. the pattern was easy enough. They do look very nice. I will probably wear them soon.
Boyfriend Socks
My June Sock of the Month. Still haven't given them to my husband. I am so slow. The yarn is Debbie Bliss Cashmerino. The yarn is nice except with black yarn it was very easy to split the stitches. I hate working with black yarn.
My May Sock of the Month
I know I'm slow is getting pictures posted. The yarn and pattern are from PTyarns SOTM. First sock knit in April 2001. Second sock knit in May 2007. Haven't worn them yet. Wanted to take a picture first.
Teacosy
I have a few more Teacosy's that I need to take a picture of. My friend Sandi sent thes to be for St. Patricks Day. It is rather cute.

Partea Time
Hats are always popular when having tea. The Restaurant supplies hats. My daughters picked this one for me.
Partea Time
I would love to have a place like this to have all my tea sitting out for all to see. It would also be great to have my china sitting out. Maybe I would use it more often.
Partea Time
Of course we thought the deserts were great.
We each had a different tea. Our idea was to try some of each others tea. We didn't. Silly us.

Partea Time
Fiona and I had the tea sandwiches and deserts. Due to food allergies my sister and Heather had chicken sandwiches. They were good also. Everything was good. Of course there were things I liked better then others. It is just fun to have small sandwiches with such pretty dishes and good company.
Partea Time
Scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam to start. To bad I didn't take a picture before we started to eat. LOL

Pi Shawl in Progress
Here is the second Pi Shawl I knit. It also is not finished. I followed EZ;s pattern for the center of the shawl. The next pattern is from Barbara Walker It is called the Miniature Leaf Pattern Version 1. One of these days I knit the next section and the border. I do have patterns for both of them. I knit this last year as park of the Amazing Lace Knit Along. As you can see I didn't knit enough.
Pi Shawl
I need to pull this shawl out and get a border knitting on it. I have some nice border patterns. Just need to decide what to use.

Felted Bag
Here is the bag I sent to Mary for the Knit and Chat exchange. I really need to knit more of these bags. They make great gifts. Mary said she had a nice pin to put on the bag. I think I need to look for pins to add to other bags that I knit.

May Sock of the Month
The April SOTM is on hold. I was not able to finish knitting them. I was able to go and pick up another skein. I will wait until I finish my May SOTM before I go back and finish the April Socks.
May SOTM are Mad Cow socks. I'm using a green varigated yarn that I bought at Stitches. The plain yarn is Knit Picks. The colors look very nice. I am almost finished with the first sock.

Knitting
I haven't done any knitting since Friday. Hopefully I'll feel up to knitting tomorrow.
So I guess my husbands birthday socks will now be his Father's Day socks. Good thing he didn't know I was knitting him socks for his birthday.

Boyfriend Socks.
I finished the first sock this morning. I am now finished the toe on the second sock. It didn't take me as long to do the toe this time. Probably because I understood how to do the figure 8 cast on. We'll see how it goes with the cables this time.
I was smart and marked off each row so I know exactly how many rows I need of each set of cables. Hope that helps to make this sock go quicker.

Happy April 1st.
The start of the 4th month.
I am trying to knit toe up this month.
I've already restarted the socks 3 times. Wonder how long I'll keep this up.

Scarf
I bought the yarn at Greenwich Yarns. It is yarn from a womens collective in South Africa. I really like the colors. The scarf is short but it is the width that I like.
2 Socks on 2 Circs
I just wanted to show everyone that I did knit my 2 socks on 2 circss at the same time.
I always got funny looks when people realized that I was knitting both socks at the same time.

St. Patrick's Day 2007
My father loves to hear that the Carpenters show up for the parade every year.
St. Patrick's Day 2007
This year the St. Patrick's Day was on Saturday March 2007. As usual we were there. The day was over cast and dreary. Almost like a day in Ireland.
