Average American

According to the description on npr's website, writer Kevin O'Keefe set out to find the "most-average" American two or three years ago. He talked to magicians in Maryland and cattle farmers in Kansas, among others, then ended up in his hometown in Connecticut. The result, The Average American: The Extraordinary Search for the Nation's Most Ordinary Citizen, concludes that the following are true for a majority of Americans. Like other bloggers who have included this list on their sites (dustbury and absinthe & cookies among others),

- Eats peanut butter at least once a week (I only eat peanut butter ocasionaly).
- Prefers smooth peanut butter over chunky (I like both equaly)
- Can name all Three Stooges (Larry, Curley and Moe
- Lives within a 20-minute drive of a Wal-Mart (Thankfully I don't, I've also never been inside of one).
- Eats at McDonald's at least once a year.(I gave up fast food years ago)
- Takes a shower for approximately 10.4 minutes a day (I've never times myself).
- Never sings in the shower (Never)
- Lives in a house, not an apartment or condominium (and I really love mine)
- Has a home valued between $100,000 and $300,000 (The dumps around here are going for over $700,000. Sadly I don't own one of those dumps).
- Has fired a gun (Sadly yes).
- Is between 5 feet and 6 feet tall (True).
- Weighs 135 to 205 pounds (True).
- Is between the ages of 18 and 53 (True).
- Believes gambling is an acceptable entertainment option (nope)
- Grew up within 50 miles of current home (5 miles).
Now it's your turn.

Is this true?

Interesting Thoughts

One comment about my last post was that I have interesting thoughts. I've never been told that. I'm usually told I ramble.
I just noticed that I seem to be posting on Saturday's.
At least I'm doing something.
I will not have a comment about what is going on in DC.
I don't want to start WWIII. Oh, wait. Somebody already did that.
I have gone 1 month 1 week and 2 days without buying yarn. Not having time to go shopping really helps.
Since I didn't finish my knit 10 items before you buy more yarn challenge, I think I'll start a list of items I want to start and finish in the new year.
Next week I am going to attempt to learn to knit 2 socks on 2 circular needles. Everyone says it will cure the Second Sock Syndrome. So how am I going to do this project? I'm going to knit two socks out of two differnt balls of yarn. That means I will end up with 2 single sock. I can never make things simple, can I? LOL

"Dympna needs"

You know how they say to do go to Google and put in "your name needs". I did. I got no hits.
When I didn't use the quotation marks the first hit was for a BBC show.
Then people who are very successful.
I guess I am not sucessful. LOL

Another weekend.

I made it home without problem last weekend. Mainly because the rain stopped before 7am and I stayed at work until 3;30pm. I am tired of being understaffed and calling people at 5am. I see no let down in the future. So I guess I will just have to get use to it.
I do not work this weekend. That is a nice feeling. Got my hair done today. I need to fall asleep. Wonder when that will happen.
Have no plans for the weekend yet.

Weekend

The rain has started. Way to early for me. I am at work without a jacket or umbrella. I need to walk a mile to the train. I guess I'll have to ask for a ride to the train.
Finished an Irish Hiking Scarf. It looks wonderful a lovely tourquoise color and as long as I could make it without getting sick of it.
I'm still working on Brian's Sweater. I have got to sit down and finish it.
Making myself a nice shawl. I will take my time with it. I don't want to get sick of it before I finish.
Should probably think about Christmas gifts.
