The 11th month

Still knitting away.
Halloween was my 23rd Wedding Anniversary. Can't believe we made it this far.
Went out to dinner. Fiona stayed home with her brother so we could go out together. That was nice.
Listening to The original Sound track to Ladder 49. Saw the movie this weekend. Very good.
Also listening to: For The Lady. Dedicated to freeing Aung San Suu Kyi and the courageous people of Burma. Very nice. I realized that Brian knew nothing about their fight for freedom. So I must get him to read some info about it.
Tomorrow I start the BSJ knit along with the Yahoo group. Hope to get a BSJ knit for my nephew. I'm using Lion Brand Baby Soft in Red, Whit and Blue.

I've been knitting

I'm 15% finished with my exchange gift.
I'm 20% finished with my Bourne Supremacy Scarf.
I'm enjoying this scarf. I didnt' think I would but I am.
I started out with 30 sts. and st st. Now I am knitting 20 sts, still in st st. I know I dont' have enough yarn for the fringe so I may have to order more yarn. I'll wait and see.

I'm working on my exchange gift. Going pretty well so far.
Then today I got yarn to make the scarf Julia Stiles wore in The Bourne Idenity.
I spent this afternoon uploading a ton of pictures to the computer. Now I have to go thru them and figure out which ones i want in my albums.
Should take me close to a month to do that.

Friday. Yea!!!!

Brian is in the 8th grade. Which means he will go to high school next year. Finding a school is not an easy task. In our unified school district you can't always go to your neighborhood school. So I decided that we need to look at the other schools. So last night after a full day of school and his Halloween dance we went to an open house. It has been advertized in his weekly bullitin as an open house. It wasn't it was back to school night for the high school. So we just walked around the campus.
The good point of the school. It is 2 blocks from Fisherman's Wharf. The bad point of the school. It will take him an hour to get there and he has to transfer from a streetcar to a bus.
So he said don't put it down as one of his options. I think he would be willing to go there if he is assigned there, he just doesn't want to let them know.
I don't blame him.
So off to school he goes, with some more knowledge.
Only one teacher asked to have a parent teacher conference with me, no surprise it is English. So hopefully we can help him out English wise.

Monday

It continues to rain on and off. I don't mind it that way. I like to see the sun every few days. Getting cold. Fiona and Brian have big coats. We bought them yesterday. So they are ready for the snow in NYC.

Fall

It is so hard to tell the seasons here. Monday we had a winter storm. Today it is warm and crisp.
Still can't finishe Fiona's broadstreet mittens.
I'm going to try and buy my tickets to New York City on Sat. The kids are getting excited about the trip.
With the new Nurses joining us I've found a few more knitters. Always nice to have people to talk about knitting with at work.
I am still without the disk to download my pictures. I really need to find it this weekend.
I have so many pictures on my camera and none on my harddrive. Woe is me.

What gives?

Took three days for the Knitting Guru post to show up.
Now I know I can add things to my blog. Of course it will take forever for them to show up. LOL
Still working on Fiona's Broadstreet mittens. Bought the yarn for my exchange gift. Hope to start working on that this weekend.

I am a knitting guru

Knitting Guru
You appear to be a Knitting Guru. You love knitting
and do it all the time. While finishing a piece
is the plan, you still love the process, and
can't imagine a day going by without giving
some time to your yarn. Packing for vacation
involves leaving ample space for the stash and
supplies. It can be hard to tell where the yarn
ends and you begin.http://marniemaclean.com

I've let my daughter run away

Well she is 20 and she is not really running away.
She is on Amtrak right now on her way to Santa Barbara to spend the weekend with a friend. She keeps telling me he is not a boyfriend. We'll see. She is hoping he will drive her out to CSU Northridge to see the campus. Wonder if that will happen.
So I am minus one child this weekend. Wonder if I'll survive. LOL
Back to work tonight. Hope to get some knitting done. Hope it isn't to busy.

Thursday

I'm suppose to have 2 nights of sleep in me, which means I should feel better. Oh, well.
Still knitting away on Fiona's mittens. Heather is making progress on her socks.
I need to go out and get more Magic Stripe. Good yarn to use for the kids. They love the colors and the yarn isn't expensive.
I have so many projects to do. Should try and organize myself.
Fog came in last night and cleaned up the air. I'm happy. Sun is trying to come out now. Looks nice without the haze.

Surviving

2 nights of work over. Now I'm off for 3. Wonder if I'll get any sleep.
Warm weather back again.
Hope I can enjoy it while I'm off.
Life doesn't always work that way.
Started Heather working on socks for herself. Wonder how much she'll do on her own. LOL
Finished on Broadstreet mitten for Fiona. Working on the second. Just plugging along.
Work busy as ever.
Life busy as ever.
So what else is new. Of course I should be happy I'm alive. Right?

Fleet Week

Every year my husband would take off work on Thursday and Friday to watch the Blue Angels. He is off from work as usual and hasn't gone anywhere. What gives? The Blue Angels are not part of Fleet Week this year. The Canadian Snowbirds are. Sat is the parade of ships. Fireworks Fri and Sat night. Sunday is the Columbus Day parade. Lots to do this weekend. I may just stay home. LOL

Take a deep breath

Spoke with my sister yesterday. Feel a little better.
My parents have enough every month to pay the rent. Then my sister or myself can get paid to take care of my parents. So that should give them money to pay some of the bills. We already do the work we might as well get some money for it. So we will just leave everything as it is. I'll leave an email for my brother so he knows what is going on. I know this won't solve any problems but maybe everyone can calm down. Including myself.
